Big Ideas is a catch-up programme for nine to 12-year-olds who would benefit from revisiting key concepts from the upper primary maths curriculum. It provides additional sessions for children in KS2 and KS3 to reinforce and embed key maths concepts. Everything you need to implement a KS2 primary maths catch-up or intervention programme. Numicon builds a deep understanding of maths through a multi-sensory approach, developing children's fluency, reasoning and problem-solving. Numicon Big Ideas is a programme of additional sessions for small groups, focusing on key elements of the Primary maths curriculum for pupils not meeting age-related expectations in Upper Key Stage 2 or Key Stage 3 (aged 10 upwards). The Numicon Big Ideas programme can be run in 12 weeks and lays the
foundation for success at Secondary level as well as in end-of-Primary assessments. The Numicon Big Ideas teaching manual includes a teaching guide explaining how to run the programme most successfully, initial assessment, 48 step-by-step teaching sessions, and photocopy masters to support delivery.
